Happiness leads to good health.
Origin and Application:
Medical research has often shown that a cheerful heart can speed up the recovery of patients, especially cancer patients. This saying is not new to Bible readers, because the Proverbs already tells us so: 「A cheerful heart is good medicine, but a crushed spirit dries up the bones.」
This verse is popular in literature on patient care. In my service with the Hospital Chaplain, patients often find a lot of comfort and encouragement upon reading this verse at their lowest point in life.

Origin and Application:
醫學研究證明喜樂的心情可以加快康復的速度，尤其是對癌症患者。而這一說法對於聖經的讀者並不陌生。因為在聖經的箴言中早已提及：「喜樂的心，乃是良藥。憂傷的靈，使骨幹枯。」
這一詩節常出現在鼓勵病人的文章中。我在醫院裡的院牧服侍時，發現當患者們處於人生的低潮，會從這一節詩中找到安慰和鼓勵。
